The Stewards of Change™ annual national conference provides an unparalleled opportunity for a diverse group of talented health and human service professionals, business leaders, representatives from federal, state and local governments, nonprofits and academia to share interoperability trends and innovations and brainstorm ways to translate them into sustainable solutions for the nation’s most vulnerable children and families. An intriguing blend of expert presentations, workshops, panel discussions and graphics facilitation lays the foundation for concrete system change, year after year.
Our state and local conferences, such as October’s Advancing Information Sharing Across California to Improve Outcomes for Children Served by the Child Welfare System and the Courts, are developed on a custom basis, typically geared to a specific issue or theme—confidentiality, information technology, leadership transitioning and change management, for example.
SOC CONFERENCES HAVE LED TO COUNTLESS POSITIVE RESULTS, INCLUDING:
- Proposal for development of California’s first personal health record systems for children in foster care
- Creation of the National Interoperability Community of Practice (NICOP), an online discussion community and best practices repository for health, education, judicial and human service professionals
- Design of a national Change Vision Landscape, a graphic representation of an interoperable health and human service system on which individual agencies can model their consumer-centric initiatives
- Formation of a national community of experts focused on addressing issues of confidentiality, security and privacy related to information sharing
